What we keep when you use this website, why, for how long, and who can see it.

Your car request

When you send a request, we record the contact details, car, dates, pickup preferences you provide. The team uses this information to follow up and arrange your service.

Your El Fahd account

When you create an account we keep your email address and a protected form of your password, never the password itself, along with the name, contact number and details you add. Signing in stores a session on our server and places a cookie on your device for 30 days. Signing out ends it. After you complete sign-up verification, we notify the El Fahd owner or authorised team by email with your available account contact details and a link to your profile for follow-up.

Rental documents and your profile photo

Yes, we store your documents. When you upload a national ID, passport, driving licence, international driving licence or utility bill, we keep the file in private storage to check that you can rent with us, to reuse valid documents for later rentals, to keep a record of our review and to meet our legal obligations. These files are never published and never sit behind a public link: on the website, only you and El Fahd’s owner can open them, through pages that require signing in.

Every file is scanned for malware and converted to a clean image without the camera and location details attached to the photo. Only that clean image can be opened on the website. We also keep the original file you uploaded, which can still contain those details, under the same rules as the document. Your profile photo is also scanned, converted and stored privately, nobody else can see it, and you can remove it yourself.

How long we keep your documents

We keep your rental documents, including earlier versions you have replaced, for at least one year after your most recent rental with us, or after you uploaded them if you have not rented with us. We need them for that long because the police or the public prosecution may contact us weeks after a rental ends if a rented car is linked to an accident or a crime. These documents are not deleted automatically, and once a document has been reviewed or replaced with a new version, it can no longer be deleted from the website.

After that year, you can ask us to delete them by contacting us on WhatsApp or by phone, as shown on our “Contact us” page. We handle each request by hand, because we delete both the digital files and any paper copies we hold.

After a deletion, we may keep a short record that the document existed, such as its type, dates and review history, but not the image itself. Backup copies of our database can also hold the document’s details, but not its image, until those copies are deleted.

The one-year hold does not apply to uploads that fail our security or format checks, to uploads that were never completed, or to an upload you withdraw while it is still being checked or awaiting review. The files of those uploads are deleted automatically.

When we share your documents

We disclose your documents only to the police, the public prosecution or a court that presents a valid warrant or court order, or where applicable Egyptian law otherwise requires us to. The company that hosts our servers stores the files for us, and we do not give them to anyone else.

Addresses and the map

When you save a delivery address we keep the written details, and the map coordinates when you place the pin yourself. The map is drawn with tiles from OpenStreetMap, so your device contacts their servers and they receive your IP address and the area you are looking at on the map.

We only ask for your device location when you choose Allow location, and the result stays in the site. We do not send it anywhere else, and we do not convert your address into coordinates through any outside service.

Saved cars and rental ratings

Saved cars are kept in your account on our server, so saving a car needs you to be signed in, and you will find them on any device you sign in from. If you saved cars in this browser before, they are moved into your account when you sign in and then cleared from the browser.

A rating you write about a finished rental is stored with that rental. It is not published on the site and other customers never see it.

Choosing your language

We look up the approximate country of your IP address on our own server to choose the site language, suggest a phone country code and determine when ad measurement needs an explicit choice. You can change the suggested phone country code. We do not store the IP address or country for this purpose. A session cookie keeps only the applicable region group: consent required, other or unknown.

The language you last used is kept in a cookie on your device for one year, so the site opens in it on your next visit. You can switch language at any time.

Visit and ad measurement

We use Google Ads on public pages to measure our ads, including when a rental request is sent. Google ad personalisation is disabled. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, or when we cannot determine the region, we do not load the Google Ads tag until you explicitly allow ad measurement. Elsewhere, ad measurement is on by default and you can decline it below. Account and admin pages do not load the ad tag. An analytics choice alone does not grant Google advertising permission.

Microsoft Clarity automatically records interactions on public pages to help us improve the website. Before you explicitly allow visit analytics, analytics storage stays denied and recordings can be limited or split by page. Allowing analytics enables analytics cookies and more complete session linkage. Public prices, images and page content can appear in recordings; personal form entries and private content remain protected. Account, admin and booking-confirmation pages are excluded. Clarity also receives visited-page addresses and referring-page information.

Clarity reads the website Google Consent Mode signals. When advertising storage is permitted under the ad choices and regional settings above, Clarity may share data with Microsoft Ads for advertising purposes. Declining visit analytics or using a recognised browser privacy signal stops Clarity recording. You can change or withdraw each choice independently below and keep using the site. We keep these choices in separate cookies for six months.

Ad identifiers with rental requests

When ad measurement is permitted by your choice and region, we may keep the ad click identifiers supplied in a public page URL in a secure browser cookie for up to 30 minutes. If you submit a rental request, the permitted identifiers and the time we captured them may be saved privately with that request to understand which ads lead to enquiries. If you allow measurement after arrival, we can capture identifiers still present in the current public booking page when you submit. That time records capture, not the original ad click. This request record is kept until the request is deleted; we do not automatically upload this stored snapshot to Google.

Emails, WhatsApp and phone

Account emails, such as the verification link and the password reset link, are sent through an email service that receives your email address. A verification link is valid for 24 hours and a reset link for 15 minutes.

Tapping a WhatsApp button takes you to WhatsApp itself, and we do not send your details there automatically. Review the privacy notice of the service you use.

Your choices and questions

Once signed in you can edit your details, addresses and saved cars yourself, and signing out ends the session on our server. You can also replace a document by uploading a new version, and withdraw an upload while it is still being checked or awaiting review.

There is currently no button inside the site to delete your whole account. To ask about your information, correct it or ask for it to be removed, contact the El Fahd team on WhatsApp or by phone, as shown on our “Contact us” page. Documents follow the one-year rule above, and information we remove can remain in backup copies of our database until those copies are deleted.
