Rental Car Essentials in Cairo: What to Bring and Where to Keep It
هذا الدليل متاح بالإنجليزية.

For a day out during your Cairo rental, pack a charged phone, the correct charging cable, your agreed rental details, a securely closed drink and a small bag for everyday items. Keep the cabin organised and confirm any must-have equipment with El Fahd before booking. Bring what you need rather than assuming accessories are supplied with the car.
This checklist helps you organise a car during an agreed rental period. It does not replace the handover inspection or change the vehicle’s minimum rental period. The right setup depends on the people, belongings and equipment you actually need.
What should stay easy to find?
Keep the team’s contact, your request or confirmation reference, and the agreed pickup and return details together on your phone. Save the destination and the actual meeting point before departure. A short offline note can help if your connection is unavailable when you need an address or contact.
Keep personal documents secure and accessible when needed, rather than spread across the dashboard. Ask the team which original documents must be available for your arrangement. Use El Fahd’s published rental questions and terms for current requirements, not an old packing list from a different rental company.
Will your phone and cable work with this car?
Bring your own cable and check the connector against the supplied vehicle while parked. If charging, a phone holder or a particular connection matters to your trip, ask about it before confirming the car. Do not infer USB type, wireless charging or phone integration from a model name or a reference photograph.
Set your route and audio before moving. Keep the cable away from pedals and other controls, and use storage that does not interfere with the driver. If you need to change the setup during the journey, stop safely or ask a passenger to help. The driver should not search through bags or operate a phone while driving.
Where should water and small items go?
Choose a container that closes properly and fits the available holder. Keep loose bottles, sunglasses and small purchases away from the dashboard and driver’s footwell. A small pouch or closed case makes everyday items easier to find without turning the seat into a pile of belongings.
Use an appropriate luggage area for larger bags and arrange them before departure. Keep the driver’s view clear. A passenger seat holding a bag in an illustration is not a recommendation to leave loose luggage there while travelling; ask the team how to use the supplied car’s storage and securing points correctly.
Which comfort features should you confirm?
Start with the actual passengers, their bags and the journey you intend to make. Confirm essential seat space, luggage room and any required equipment before choosing a car. If you need a particular child-seat arrangement or another accessory, ask about suitability and availability in advance rather than treating it as included.
At handover, ask for a demonstration of unfamiliar seat, ventilation or other cabin controls while the vehicle is stationary. For recording existing marks, fuel and mileage, use the separate pickup-inspection guide. Keeping those checks separate from your packing list makes both easier to complete.
What should you do with personal data and valuables?
Carry valuables with you when you leave the vehicle, and avoid leaving personal information or belongings visible. Do not treat a parked rental as guaranteed secure storage. Plan where larger luggage will stay if your outing includes a stop that cannot accept it.
If you connect a phone, use only the normal supported controls and understand what information is shared with the car. Before returning it, sign out of any personal account you used and remove your saved device connection where supported. Ask the team for help if needed; do not reset the entire vehicle or alter its settings beyond your own connection.
A five-item checklist before you leave
1. Contact and timing: team contact, rental reference, destination, and agreed return details saved.
2. Phone: charged, compatible cable checked, route prepared and connection requirements confirmed.
3. Cabin: closed drink in a suitable holder, small items contained, view and footwell clear.
4. Passengers and bags: enough actual space, larger items stored appropriately and required equipment confirmed.
5. Return: time allowed to collect belongings, remove personal connections and meet the agreed handover.
If you are still choosing a rental, send El Fahd your dates, passenger count, luggage needs and any essential accessory requirements. A website request needs the team’s approval of the dates and vehicle before the booking is confirmed. Confirm any separate driver or delivery service and its fee with the team.
