How to Extend a Car Rental in Egypt

To request a rental extension, contact the rental team before your agreed return time and confirm the car's availability, the new return date and time, and the revised cost. El Fahd's changes policy says that date or vehicle-category changes depend on availability. Sending a request is the start of that discussion, not confirmation that you can keep the car longer.

A later return today or extra rental days?

Describe the change using an exact date and time. “A few more hours” and “another day” can mean different things to different people.

Later on the same date: specify the new time and ask how the change would be charged.

One or more extra days: give the full new return date and time, and ask whether the same car can remain with you.

A different return location: give the new location as well as the time, so any handover arrangements and separate fees can be confirmed.

For example, if your agreed return is 10:00 and you now need 16:00, request 16:00 explicitly. This is a planning example, not a statement about a grace period or how El Fahd calculates an extra charge.

What information should you send?

El Fahd's published changes policy asks you to mention your request reference when contacting the team about a change. Keep your existing booking details together and send:

Your request or booking reference and the car you are using.

The currently agreed return date, time and location.

The new date, time and location you need.

Whether you also need a driver or a different collection arrangement.

Confirm the cost and the updated terms

Before relying on the extra time, ask for a clear answer covering:

Availability: can you keep the same car for the requested period?

Cost: what is the revised total, and what additional amount, if any, is due?

Mileage: how does the agreed allowance apply to the extra period, and what rate applies if you exceed it?

Handover: what are the confirmed return time and location?

Additional services: are any requested driver or delivery charges separate?

El Fahd's FAQ explains that driver service and its fee are confirmed separately. Its rental terms also ask customers to confirm mileage and any separate driver or delivery charges with the team. Do not assume that multiplying an earlier daily figure gives the approved extension price.

Keep the written confirmation with your original booking details. If the reply confirms availability but leaves the cost or return time unclear, ask for those missing details before treating the extension as settled.

What if the same car cannot be extended?

Ask whether another arrangement is available. If a different car is proposed, confirm the vehicle, handover location, timing and cost before agreeing to the change. Availability of an alternative is not guaranteed.

Until you receive a confirmed change, do not assume your original return arrangement has been replaced. El Fahd's rental terms say that handover follows the agreed time and that delays should be reported in advance. If the deadline is close, use the team's published contact details to obtain a clear plan.

Does a flight delay automatically extend the rental?
